Passenger Bill of Rights
The Ryan International Airlines, Inc. commitment to its passengers
Safety is the paramount concern in everything we do at Ryan International Airlines. The comfort of our passengers and reliability of our service are vitally important as well and there are times when operational issues will negatively affect the passenger experience. The policies noted here are those that we follow in those unusual circumstances.
Contingency Plan for Lengthy Tarmac Delays
Domestic Flights:
Passengers shall not remain on the aircraft for more than three hours unless: The Captain determines there is a safety-related or security-related reason (e.g. weather, directive from an appropriate government agency) why the aircraft cannot leave its position on the tarmac to deplane passengers; or air traffic control advises the Captain that returning to the gate or another disembarkation point elsewhere in order to deplane passengers would significantly disrupt airport operations.
International Flights:
Passengers shall not remain on the aircraft for more than four hours unless: The Captain determines there is a safety-related or security-related reason (e.g. weather, directive from an appropriate government agency) why the aircraft cannot leave its position on the tarmac to deplane passengers; or air traffic control advises the Captain that returning to the gate or another disembarkation point elsewhere in order to deplane passengers would significantly disrupt airport operations.
All Flights:
The Captain shall ensure that adequate food and potable water are available for passengers no later than two hours after the aircraft leaves the gate (in case of departure) or touches down (in case of arrival) if the aircraft remains on the tarmac unless the Captain determines that safety or security considerations preclude such service. The Captain shall ensure that the lavatory facilities are operable as well as adequate medical attention is available if needed, while the aircraft remains on the tarmac.
Communication:
Ryan International Airlines will ensure that its passengers are informed of delays or cancellations prior to scheduled departure if possible, the reason for any onboard delays and the causes for any expected further delays.
